I want to know little more about the ‘Tempdb latch contention’ in SQL server. I have researched on this few and learn somewhat. So, what exactly is ‘latch contention’ and where can I learn more details on this? If I have a PAGELATCH_* contention on Tempdb.
How to identify if page is PFS, GAM or IAM?
How to resolve?
What’s the best practice?
It will be great, someone having great idea, knowledge on this could surely help me out by giving some examples on latch connection as how can we identify and resolve them.
